Love In Your Skin
I have been answering “Quora” questions for about six months. Many of the questions I am asked are about bleaching one’s skin - a safe way to do it - what product is best - how to do it at home - etc.
I also receive questions about tanning - how to make one’s skin darker - how much is too much - how to do it safely.
As someone who has created a skin care line devoted to the loving care of skin, I find these questions very disturbing.
Our skin is the outer representation of our inner self. It protects our precious body. It is an essential component of our miraculous gift of life. And, it must be nurtured, loved, understood, and protected.
Behind the outer logic and rationale of these inquiries, lies the inner statement “I am not OK as I am. Therefore, I must harm my body to make me presentable to the world.”
You would never ever consider shaving a little piece off your heart, because it was too large. You wouldn’t complain about needing to make your liver a different color - the dark red is just not quite right. And you would never inject a filler into your eye just to make it a little larger.
Because - these procedures are harmful. They are harmful to your body.
These supposed cosmetic changes would damage your organs’ ability to perform their function. You would never do it. They are bad for you.
“I want to change the color of my skin.”
“I don’t like this wrinkle in my skin, let me fill it up with an injection of something.”
“Let me cut my skin so I can stretch and pull and push it into a different shape.”
Really, our bodies are so precious. They are such beautiful miracles. The life they offer is such a wonderful gift.
Sweet, loving care is the best way to transform your skin.
